Crossing the Line
Crossing the line is an epic tale about a 14 year old boy called Erik. Erik's life is a mess: his Dad is dead, he's failing school, Erik hates his mum, his family are broke and his newborn sisters are not helping his situation. One day Erik is hanging out by the "Flo" and gets sucked up into a life of drugs, violence and danger. Mixed with fruity language and an incomprehensible feeling of excitement which keeps you addicted to turning the page. I believe that Crossing the line is a masterpiece. 12/12

The Boy Lost in the Maze
This book was quite difficult for me to understand but when you continue reading the book, you'll find the similarities between the two characters. I really admire how the author switches between the characters to portray how they on the same journey to find their fathers' and how they want to prove themselves to their dads when they finally reunite again.

Away With Words
This was quite a good book. At first when you read it you might feel a bit confused when trying to wrap your head around words physically coming out of your mouth when you talk, but when you continue reading, then you will understand where the author is coming from and how the story will progress. Overall though, this is an amazing book. I really like it!

Safiyyah's War
This book is based in world war 2 and is from the view of a 10 year old who is very interested in travelling and was for some of the book quite upset about her Jewish friend having to leave because her family thought it was unsafe to stay in France. I thought that the book went of on a pretty rocky start because of it taking a while for all the action start which did make it quite boring however after the first hundred pages I think it started to get a lot more intense and interesting with her father at the mosque. But I did find that the protagonist was quite unrealistic because she managed to be amazing academically and also extremely lucky with her circumstances. However I loved how the small child comforted so many hearts when they were dealing with loss. I also loved how the author kept the book quite formal like the situation of the main characters. Overall I would give this 4 stars because the first half really threw me off the book but it did redeem itself in the second half which all the suspense.i hope that this review gives you a good idea of the book.
