Choose Love
Choose love is a beautiful book with a really powerful meaning I enjoyed the book so much and the fact that it is based on real peoples experiences is just heart wrenching. The text is formatted in such an easy to read manner and is a great read the beautiful illustrations paint the perfect picture aside with the text and the poetic structure of the tragic but sadly true story that many refugees go through incredibly difficult to read through without tearing up.The book is a magical way of informing people about asylum seekers and the great lengths people have to go through all over the globe just to live safely .This book is such a magical read and I love how the choose love foundation is incorporated into this beautiful book.I can confidently say that I will be recommending this to all my friends because this is one of the most heart warming books I’ve ever read .

Away With Words
I really loved this book. I liked the idea of a reality where you can see words as people say them. Also I found Gala and Natalie's story of settling in and finding their voices really endearing. Would definitely recommend for some feel good/light reading.

The Boy Lost in the Maze
I am a massive Greek Myth nerd, so was very excited when I saw something like this was shortlisted. I'm also a sucker for a verse novel. The poems in it were good, and the illustrations were great too, but the dual perspective and the random, "choose your own adventure" was very unnecessary. Was a very quick read, but a little confusing at times. 7/10

Steady for This
I HATED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. Everything about it was dreadful: the characters were all detestable, the plot was awful, the events were ludicrously annoying and the language used was so cringey I couldn't finish it. I read the first page, thought in my head, "This looks terrible" and put it down halfway through the book and never picked it up again. How this was ever shortlisted, or even willingly published, I will never know. Would never recommend this to anybody. -10/10

The Song Walker
Amazing, I couldn't put it down, it was the best book I've read for ages!

The Door of No Return
I found this book really good. I liked the fact it was written in poems. I liked the moral lessons behind it about following your dreams and family.
